On this edition of Member Spotlight, meet Alyson! She is a sophomore majoring in English with the hopes of one day teaching high school English. A local of North Minneapolis, Alyson is very familiar with Minnesota (and the Minnesota winters). So far, she has been on one build and had a great time. She learned how to put up plastic to keep insulation in place on the ceiling and walls. This is important so the family can keep warm and keep the heat inside the house during the cold winter months. Her favorite part of the day was learning how to use a staple hammer and getting to be fastest staple hammer user on the site! While it was not easy, the hard work and new forming friendships made the day a great one. Alyson decided to join Habitat for Humanity because she wanted to join a student group and help others in need. She found that Habitat for Humanity did just that and has loved seeing the physical impact of her efforts. She was amazed to leave the site that day and physically see the impact that she had made on the house.
Thank you so much for volunteering, Alyson! It was great to have you on a build and have you make a difference in our community!
